OPEN CALL - 5 artists to be part of FUTURES in 2026

The Bienal Fotografia do Porto will nominate 5 emerging photographic artists living in Portugal to join the European community FUTURES in 2026. The selected artists will enjoy an international exchange through network with institutions, curators, artists and audiences, enhancing visibility and fostering new professional opportunities. The Bienal Fotografia do Porto is one of the 22 members of FUTURES.

During the year 2026, the 5 selected artists will have access to:

• Fee of 500€*;
• Tutoring by a member of FUTURES (3 sessions);
• Travel and accommodation to attend FUTURES Annual Event in Utrecht, November 2026 (to be confirmed), which includes portfolio presentations to FUTURES member representatives, workshops, etc;
• Contribution for travel, accommodation, and meals (600€)*;
• Access to a series of workshops and masterclasses guided by Magnum — FUTURES Magnum Creative Workshop;
• Publication of portfolio, text, and biography on the FUTURES website and social media channels
• Inclusion of a selection of images, text, and biography in the FUTURES annual catalog
• Eligibility to apply for the traveling exhibition of FUTURES 2026 artists

*Payment upon presentation of invoice or receipt issued by the artist to Ci.CLO.
