Relating the landscape affected by High Speed Two (HS2), a project to modernise the rail network in England, to photography and the linking of rail to speed, industry and technologies, this project reflects on the impacts of this plan and its subsequent reduction for budgetary reasons, undermining the ideals of public mobility and a solution to climate change that were initially proposed. Despite the reduction to a fraction of its intended scale, it became polarising at a national level, displacing people from all over the country, while irrevocably altering the archetypal, bucolic British landscape.
