Casa do Infante was built in 1325 and is believed to have been the birthplace of Prince Henry the Navigator. This is one of the oldest buildings in the city, having served as a residence for official visits by the royal family, the Customs and the Mint. The Casa do Infante is made up of permanent exhibitions, the Archive and the Gabinete do Tempo, which offers a reflection on the chronology of the city of Porto. It has been a National Monument since 1924.
