SMITH

SMITH (1985) is a photographer, visual artist, director, and researcher who explores and contemplates metamorphosis through gender transition, shifts in era, states of consciousness, plasticity, atomic hybridizations, biotechnological mutations and interspecies relationships. In most of his projects, he uses his body for experiments that are half-scientific, half-fictional, based on collaborations with artists, artisans, researchers and companies of new technologies, fundamental sciences and humanities. His aim is to blur genres, languages, and disciplines to propose curious works, in the sense of “cura”: care and curiosity towards the world around us, humanity and the more-than-human, the visible and the invisible, the imaginary, and fiction.
