Dami (Imago) is part of SMITH's ongoing artistic exploration, incorporating research into metaphysical and existential themes, focusing on the connection between humanity, consciousness and the cosmos. SMITH evokes a space of transformation and altered perception from his own experiences with cognitive trance and other spiritual practices, exploring themes of transformation and the erasure of boundaries between species, genders and worlds. Filmed with a thermal camera in the California desert, Imago seeks to convey the urgency of going beyond human-centered perspectives, inviting a more fluid and interconnected experience of reality, as we follow the artist's journey towards disappearance, immersed in an overwhelming excess of light.
